December 21, 2011 www.Desert Messenger.com Free Healthy Living Workshop set The La Paz County Public Health Education & Prevention Pro- gram, in partnership with the Arizona Healthy Living Institute is offering Healthy Living workshops throughout the county. People with chronic conditions may never know life without their disease, but with the help of this workshop, they can ex- perience living by managing their symptoms. Each week participants will solve problems, set goals and cover topics including managing medications, healthy eating, physical activity and communicating with family and health professionals. The program is FREE of charge and is facilitated by trained leaders who often have chronic conditions themselves. The workshops will be once a week for 2.5 hours and runs for six consecutive weeks. The program was developed by Stanford University and used an evidence-based curriculum; meaning that it has proven to help participants take control of their health and manage their conditions.
