The fi rst required step toward earning your G.E.D. is attendance of an ori- entation meeting. An orientation meeting will be held at the AWC Quartzsite Learning Center on Mon- day, March 14th, from 1 to 5 p.m. ���.D�����M��������.��� AWC Quartzsite Activities There is no fee for this service, but you do need to bring a picture I.D. Orientation is followed by studying for your G.E.D. exams. This prepa- ration can be done via internet (at home or at the college) or by taking classes in person at the La Paz Ca- reer Center in Parker. Centennial Photo Scavenger Hunt Contest The fi rst of four photo scavenger hunt contests sponsored by Proud Neighbors of Quartzsite began at the Arizona Centennial of Quartzsite Kickoff, Sat. Feb. 12th The fi rst contest runs thru May 1st. All the rules and fi rst list of items plus the of- fi cial fi gure, “Prickly Pete” can be downloaded at www.QuartzsiteRocks.com. You don’t have to be here to play! Use a digital camera to take pictures of “Prickly Pete” anywhere you happen to be. Someone must be holding “Prickly Pete” in each photo. Using friends or celebrities hold one or more “Prickly Petes” is encouraged. Clearly identifi able landmarks, city limit signs, etc. may improve your chances of winning certain prizes. Prickly Pete was a collaborative effort of two local artists, PJ Bettmann and Mary Huntley. Learn about Arizona and have some fun taking photos! A workshop to educate AWC stu- dents on how to utilize our online tutoring and library services is scheduled to be held at the AWC Quartzsite Learning Center on Wednesday, 3/02/11, from 9:30- 11:00a.m. All AWC students, wheth- er you take your classes online or in person, should plan to attend! There are still a few opportunities P��� 21 to enjoy personal enrichment class- es at QLC.
