As his clients will attest, Alsaidi is not your average eye doctor. Along with his other duties, Alsaidi treats glaucoma and dry eye syndrome. He manages macular degeneration, not to mention ocular manifestations of medical conditions such as hyperten- sion, diabetes, inflammatory conditions and more. With his experience, he is sure to find the solution to whatever ocular malady you may encounter. Alsaidi's experience is backed up by prestigious academic achievements. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biology from East Carolina University, and he earned his doctorate of optometry from Southeastern Univer- sity in Florida. He also has a professional affiliation with the American Optomet- ric Association and the North Carolina State Optometric Society. This North Carolina local cares not only about this community but about those across the world as well. In 2011, Alsaidi participated in a medical mission trip to India through Unite for Sight. While there, he distributed over 400 pairs of glasses and disbursed enough money for 40 cataract surgeries. After earning his undergraduate degree at Mercer University in Georgia in 1973, Rig- gins went on to earn two doctorates and became an eye physician and surgeon at Cape Fear Eye Associates in 1999. Riggins has surgical experience with iLASIK, LASIK, photo refractive keratec- tomy and conductive keratoplasty, not to mention cataract surgery and multifocal lens implants, among other procedures. This Jacksonville, Florida, native is board certified in both ophthalmology (1995) and optometry (1981) and earned his professional license in North Carolina in 1999. The community at Fort Bragg might be interested to know that he is also a retired colonel of the Medical Corps U.S. Army Reserve.
