JULY 31-AUGUST 6, 2019 UCW 39 Best of Fayetteville Best Hamburger Rustic Burger 2653 Hope Mills Road, Suite 18 910-568-4471 or https://rusticburger.business.site Although Rustic Burger has only been on the Hope Mills scene for barely a year, it's made a big impression on local hamburger lovers. Once you arrive at the neatly maintained location on Hope Mills Road, you place your order inside and, after a brief wait, pick up your food that's wafting with tantalizing smells at a second window. Featured items on owners John and Trista's menu are 21 different hamburgers made to order using a variety of fresh ingredients. Classic sides like fried pickles, sweet potato fries and mozzarella sticks will stick to your ribs. If hamburgers aren't your thing, they've got other options, including freshly made salads. The goal at Rustic Burger is to provide excellent food and equally good customer service. Come to Rustic Burger for a place where family and friends gather. Best Hot Dog Hot Diggidy Dog 106 Roxie Ave. 910-426-1300 or www.facebook.com/hotdiggidydognc In addition to being a Best of Fayetteville winner, Hot Diggidy Dog has previously been voted as one of the top 20 hot dog restaurants in the state of North Carolina. While hot dogs are the star item on the menu, it certainly doesn't end there. Other options include award-winning hamburgers, smoked sausage, barbecue, grilled chicken sandwiches, onion rings, cheese fries, chili cheese fries and hand-dipped milkshakes. A recent addition to the menu is the classic fried bologna sandwich. Customer reviews like this one are the norm: "This was our first time to eat there,'' a local wrote. "I can't believe what we have missed. Ground beef patted by hand. Homemade chili and slaw. Best ever in Fayetteville. The spectacular juice of the burger makes you realize you can't put it down until you eat it all. French fries and onion rings, awesome. We will be going back. Loved it. Very clean, upscale restaurant. Owners and staff are also five stars to us. Yummy." Find out what you're missing, too, if you haven't been there yet. Best Fried Chicken KFC 1207 Bragg Blvd. and various locations 910-485-2531 or www.kfc.com Col. Harlan Sanders tried a lot of business ventures in his lifetime. But it wasn't until he discovered his secret combination of 11 herbs and spices for fried chicken and started selling it at a gas station that he hit a dining home run. The taste of that chicken would continue winning fans for generations to come. The KFC located at 1207 Bragg Blvd. in Fayetteville was the first KFC to be built in North Carolina. The diners in Fayetteville have certainly shown how they feel about KFC, as it has been a repeat winner in Best of Fayetteville competitions over the years. Of course, chicken isn't the only feature of the KFC chain. Over time, the restaurant has added popular side dishes like macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes to the mix, perfectly complementing Sanders' original menu centerpiece.
