McPherson Church Rd. 910-483-5500 or www.vcanc.com Village Christian Acad- emy was founded 21 years ago by former pastor Dr. Bruce Martin as an out- reach ministry of Village Baptist Church. Since then, it's grown into one of Fayetteville's top faith- based private schools. VCA is a nondenominational Christian school and is fully accredited. The goal of the school is to challenge young men and women with academic rigor in a Christ-centered environment and prepare them to lead godly lives with a biblical worldview. In the 2018-19 school year, total enrollment in grades prekindergarten through 12th was 726 students, 235 of those in grades 9-12. Average class size is 17 pupils. The graduation rate is 100%. Academics are a strong aspect of the Village experience. VCA offers 30 Honors and nine AP courses. Of the 2018 class, 88% had a grade point average of 3.0 or better, with 60% at 4.0 or better. The average SAT score for the class of 2018 was 1119. Following the 2018 graduation, 97% of students attended post- secondary institutions. There are also plenty of opportunities for extracurricular activities and in- terscholastic athletics. Counting middle school, junior varsity and varsity, the school fields 34 athletic teams in a variety of sports. Additionally, every year the senior class goes on an international mission trip.
