JULY 31-AUGUST 6, 2019 UCW 15 Best of Fayetteville Best Neighborhood Bar Last Call Sports Bar 5395 Ramsey St. 910-822-8400 or www.facebook.com/Last-Call-Sports-Bar Customers rave about Last Call being their home bar, and one visit makes it easy to see why. The bar is known for its lively entertainment, great service and, most importantly, its friendly environment. Owner Anne Uleman has kept Last Call up and thriving for nearly 17 years, but she gives credit to her hardworking staff for making Last Call the fun and welcoming place it is today. Besides its staff and environment, Last Call has plenty of perks that make it the place to be on a Friday night. Pool tables, giant Jenga, beer pong, darts, Texas Hold 'em (on Mondays only, sorry folks), foosball, cornhole, a bowling and golf machine and video games offer endless fun. Thirteen huge, flat- screen TVs line the walls, too. Musical entertainment includes DJs, live bands and — if you're up to it — karaoke. Last Call has a wide selection of beer and liquor, with specials almost every night of the week. Stop by on a Wednesday and have a 12-ounce draft for $1, for example, and see what all Last Call's loyal customers are talking about. Best Bar For Craft Beers Dirtbag Ales 5435 Corporation Dr., Hope Mills 910-426-2537 or www.dirtbagales.com Self-proclaimed "Dirtbags" Vernardo (aka Tito), Eric and Jerry brew "for the refined taste of the common man." In other words, they opted to ditch the rulebook and pursue homegrown craftsman- ship when they started Dirtbag Ales, North Carolina's first contract brewery, in Tito's garage. Tito developed a pas- sion for home-brewed beer and stove-top con- coctions until, at last, he brewed the Kölsch, the drink that convinced Eric to invest in what is now Dirtbag Ales. Along with the Blood Orange Kölsch, Dirtbag offers a variety of unique drinks, including the Cold-Brew Mocha Porter, the W.E.I.N.E.R Mash, the seasonal Saison de Citrouille for all the pumpkin lovers out there and more. The goal: Have fun and make great beer. An experience at Dirtbag is never the same. The bar regularly hosts food trucks, live music and even a weekly outdoor farmers market and monthly self- defense classes during the summer. They've been the site of lobster, German and Filipino food offerings. They are planning a few drag brunches and have held a KidsPeace craft day. The variety is endless, and so are the good times. Best Sports Bar Bubba's 33 500 Westwood Shopping Center 910-223-2601 or www.bubbas33.com Bubba's 33 is all about celebration. Founder Kent "Bubba" Taylor had this in mind when he named his restaurant after the year prohibition ended, 1933. At Bubba's, that freedom mindset is present everywhere you look. Friends, fami- lies and sports team enthusiasts, this place is for you. Enjoy classic American food (includ- ing the Patriot Burger), local paraphernalia and, of course, sports and beer. University of North Carolina graduate Kent Taylor, who is also the founder and CEO of Texas Roadhouse, opened America's first Bubba's right here in Fayetteville in 2013. Today, Bubba's has nearly 30 locations throughout the United States. Taylor's goal was to create a sports bar that didn't sacrifice great food for the sake of a good time. After checking out the mouth-watering menu and entertainment- filled dining area, you could say he reached his goal. Fayetteville manager Joshua Burris ensures customers are treated with the warmth and respect our town is known for. Bubba's features a garage bar and a family dining section, not to mention wall- to-wall televisions, so the view is always great. The "33" in Bubba's is about more than prohibition. Stop by for fresh burgers made with 33% bacon, ice-cold beer and stone-baked, hand-tossed pizzas. Best Pool Room Corner Pockets 2443 Hope Mills Rd. 910-779-0101 or www.facebook.com/Corner-Pockets-108306132544796 Owner Thom "Commish" Greb started Corner Pockets in 2011. Since then, the pool room has moved to a remodeled, 5,000-square-foot location with a spa- cious private parking lot. With eight 7-foot Diamond tables and two 9-foot Dia- mond tables, Corner Pockets is the perfect place to watch the big game, shoot pool and let loose with the friendly customers and staff. It's the perfect place to host the North American Poolshooters Association nationals, which it does. It also hosts the new United Billiard Leagues tournament. Along with its 16 Diamond tables, Corner Pockets offers a full-service kitchen, a room dedicated to playing darts and a 50-foot bar perfect for drinking, eating and watching any of the flat screen televisions. You can also purchase 3-finger gloves, lava and predator chalk to step up your game for one of Corner Pockets' regular tournaments. There's also karaoke, if you're feeling brave. As its loyal customers say, "COME GET SOME" at Corner Pockets.
