Best Venue/Club for Live Music The Drunk Horse Pub 106 S. Eastern Blvd. 910-835-8347 or www.facebook.com/TheDrunkHorsePub It's not every day you find a local bar with an incred- ible sound system. If you've been on the hunt, look no further. The Drunk Horse Pub is loved for its drinks, known for its music and supported by a family-like customer base. This is the second year in a row it wins Best Venue/ Club for Live Music in town. Co-owners Pawley and Heather Thomas opened the pub in 2012, using every cent they had. It was so well received that, following a devastating fire in 2014, a loyal customer named Ashley Watson started a GoFundMe campaign to bring the business back to life. Hundreds of customers rallied behind her, and The Drunk Horse Pub relocated to the Rock Shop Music Hall's previous location in 2015. The pub hasn't stopped growing since, and its music scene is largely responsible. This pub is the place to hear both local bands and national performers, from The Doll Skin to Cloud Hands and more. Its customers enjoy the pool table, drink specials and becoming a part of a great community. The band is made up of five musicians: drummer and backup vocalist Greg Adair, keys player and lead/backup vocalist Doug Bass, lead guitarist Cliff Bender, bass guitarist Tony Harrison and keys player and lead/backup vocal- ist Allen Pier.
