Clean out those stacks of pictures as Ms. Dickey instructs on how to easily view and share them. Exploration options for photo organziation, preservation, on- line backup and display will be learned. The hike is approximately 4 miles on both earthen surface, rocky in spots, and paved road. For those who love the out- doors, Pea Ridge National Military Park off ers plenty of opportunities to experi- ence nature. Special note: This is a National Historic Site, therefore there is a $10 admission fee per hiker. However, if you have a Na- tional Park Pass, bring it! Pass allows park admission for three (3) adults. Transportation and meeting lo- cation will be sent in email reminder. Learn from an Arkansas Professional Development Registry Verified Trainer ways to turn these challenges into blessings, keys to better relationships, and your start to your personal blueprint for happi- ness. Explore reasons why children misbehave and tips for grace under pressure. In addition we will explore fun STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities along with Art Ex- periences with children. Scholars recorded these songs, which have since inspired countless free-world versions by pro- fessional and amateur musicians. This class will nod to these covers, but will focus on the art of the prisoners themselves, who in their harsh, brutal servitude sang for their own solace, amusement, and endurance. Or wished you could identify a fossil? This is a class that will help you answer those questions. An Arkansas Master Naturalist and frequent instructor of nature courses, Denis Dean will guide participants in learning about the rocks of Arkansas and elsewhere. The class will also study minerals and will see samples of both rocks and miner- als. Numerous fossils will be present- ed for discussion and examination. INSTRUCTOR: Denis Dean, Master Naturalist DAY/DATE: Wednesdsay, 9/18/19 (1) TIME: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM LOCATION: Drake COST: $28 OLLI Member $43 Non-OLLI Member THE NUCLEAR OPTION TOUR OF NUCLEAR ONE GENERATION PLANT IN RUSSELLVILLE DESCRIPTION: Nuclear One's iconic hyperbolic cooling tower can be seen for miles alongside Lake Dardanelle. The unit is one of Entergy's nine nu- clear power facilities; it went on line in May, 1974, with Unit #1, followed by Unit #2 in 1978. Nuclear One pro- vides 56% of the total energy demand from Entergy Arkansas's 700,000 cus- tomers. Its opening jump-started Ar- kansas' use of nuclear power for elec- tricity generation, providing a clean alternative to fossil fuels. (Since 9/11, tours of U. S. energy-related facilities such as power plants, hydroelectric dams, and nuclear facilities have been severely curtailed.) OLLI participants will be given an educational guided tour of the Nuclear One plant, includ- ing video, lecture, and a trip into the duplicate control room used to train operators and technicians. The tour will leave Fayetteville in early morning and return in the afternoon (exact times and meeting location will be announced close to class date). Lunch in Russellville will be Dutch Treat. The materials cover the history of Social Security, how to qualify for benefits, spousal benefits, widow & widower benefits, taxation of benefits, working while you receive benefits, issues in- volved in claiming benefits early and strategies to maximize your benefits while developing an income stream in retirement. This is not a financial seminar; this is a financial course of study where you will leave with the knowledge and information needed to make decisions about Social Secu- rity benefits.
