With more than 7,000 cataloged Native American whole pottery vessels, the Collection Facility houses the largest single col- lection of late prehistoric and protohis- toric period whole pottery vessels from Arkansas. Ann Early, the Arkansas State Archaeologist, will guide participants through this collection with an illustrat- ed talk about Native American pottery making in Arkansas.The main presenta- tion (an illustrated lecture) will be held in the Arkansas Archeological Survey's conference room. The gallery talk por- tion of the program will be held in the open curation area where examples of prehistoric pottery from all parts of Ar- kansas will be seen and discussed. Most of these pressure points can be treated at home using safe and simple techniques. Dr. Blair B. Masters will teach particpants how to locate and treat these pressure points. You will also learn the diff erence between a pressure point you can safely treat at home and a symptom of a prob- lem that may need to be addressed by a physician. INSTRUCTOR: Blair B. Join in the tradition! A pontoon boat tour guided by Denis Dean, an Arkansas Master Naturalist, will enable participants to view the bald eagles that have migrated to the lake for the fall and winter. Whether perched on shoreline trees or soaring above, the bald eagles are a thrill to view. Besides eagles, participants are likely to see oth- er wildlife in and around Beaver Lake. Meet your transportation at Sam's Club off Garland and I-49 at 8:30 am. Commuters can elect to follow the van or meet at the Rocky Branch Marina on Beaver Lake at 9:45 am. Max enrollment is 19.
