Henderson to create a school for sons and daughters of African American residents. Hear the story of Hender- son and his daughter, Clara, who were the teachers in this school, which operated for 70 years in Fayetteville. Tour the school and examine relics of early education as well as tools used to build the two room school house. Jack Reed used logs from Coin Har- vey's resort and pyramids in Monte Ne to change the school into a private residence. This course offers a rare op- portunity to tour this private home site and learn the great value this school provided our town. Dee Dee Lamb is an educator and for- mer Education Director at the Wash- ington County Historical Society. She and her husband bought this historic home and have collected stories and artifacts related to its history. Max en- rollment is 15. Celebrating its 100th year in 2019 and originally known as the Main Agricultural Experiment Sta- tion until 1996, the 725-acre Arkansas Agricultural Research and Extension Center (AAREC) is the main research station for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and in- volves all Division research disciplines in the areas of animal science; poultry science; food science; horticulture; in- sect pests and plant diseases; crops, soil and water resources; biological and agricultural engineering; and ag- ri-science and technology. More than 250 faculty/extension personnel, re- search specialists, technicians, and graduate students work at the center. Come and tour the facility and get in- sights into some of the novel research being conducted here. * Participants should expect some light walking and should wear ap- propriate attire for both outside and inside presentations/activities. As we learn more about the planetary system, we find the revelations are amazing. Come on a grand tour from the sun to regions where the sun is just another star in the sky. Learn how the planetary system compares to the thousands of planetary systems re- cently discovered. INSTRUCTOR: Malcolm Cleaveland, Ph. Dr. Timo- thy Kral, a UA professor in the depart- ment of Biological Sciences, will at- tempt to define life, as it is found on Earth, and then define what we would look for in other worlds. Following the first class, Dr. Kral will concentrate on planets and moons in our solar sys- tem, more specifically Mars, Venus, Enceladus, Europa, and Titan. He will continue in the third session to focus on the search for intelligent life out- side of our solar system.
