Adam Franky, Director of Enactus at the University of Arkansas, trains stu- dents in the art of competitive orato- ry. He will guide participants in a step by step approach to speech writing to make it easy and fun for everyone. Participants will start every class with vocal warm-up to boost morale and open up the pipes! Participants will go through the steps of writing a 5 - 10 minute speech along with one-on- one time to help each craft a personal message. By the end of the class par- ticipants will have written a powerful message, and mastered the nuances to deliver it just right. Max enrollment is 8. This session focuses on buying groceries and ordering food delivery on the Internet. Demos for ordering take away from Bite Squad, shopping for groceries for pick-up at Walmart or home delivery from Harps will be in- cluded in this session. Venmo will be demonstrated for sending or receiv- ing money! Bring your devices and UA college students will be on hand to help you set it up! This session will cover basic security concerns only. Erin is also the Founder and Owner of Ozark Culinary Tours, a walking food tour experience featuring the best of our downtown areas here in NWA! Join her on a delightful "dine and discovery" of Ozark foods reinvented through an in- side look at the area's restaurants. This week, participants will visit Elev- en at Crystal Bridges Museum in Ben- tonville for a meal and a discussion of historic food. Eleven is a unique, one- of-a-kind experience with beautiful views and a special atmosphere. The cuisine is High South, an in-house cu- linary concept that elevates Southern home cooking in the Ozarks to a new level: champagne and cornbread. It's designed to be a hands-on workshop where the learning and the doing will happen together. Julie Brandt and Helen Eaton, who will conduct the painting workshop, will guide partici- pants with the use of reference photo- graphs, teacher models, demonstra- tions of varied techniques, individual attention, and lots of encouragement for this small first painting. All materials (canvas, paint, brushes, palette, medium, etc.) will be provid- ed within the cost of the class. Max enrollment is 12. This class will cover cost (pricing and expenses), framing, and building a portfolio. Par- ticipants will write an artist statement and bio for their portfolio. You will learn how to initiate gallery contact, network, and promote your work. The class will also cover how to sub- mit your work for competitions and explore funding opportunities. Diane Michelle Hausam has a degree in Photography from the University of Arkansas and teaches photography and Photoshop at Northwest Techni- cal Institute and OLLI. Max enroll- ment is 5.
