SEPTEMBER 16-22, 2015 UCW 15 WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM POLITICS POLITICS Most Responsive City/Most Respected Civic Leader Mayor Nat Robertson City of Fayetteville 433 Hay St. 910.433.1992 or www.cityoffayetteville.org Fayetteville Mayor Nat Robertson is finishing up his first term as Mayor of the City of Fayetteville. Robertson, who ran on a platform of reducing crime and securing the city, is getting good marks from city residents and that can be seen nowhere better than here, as he was voted as the Most Responsive/Most Respected Civic Leader. "Being Mayor, I feel that it's my responsibility to be responsive to all of our residents. It's my plea- sure to serve as the conduit between the tax payer and the city government. It's very rewarding that those I serve are supportive of the work I am doing by naming me the Most Responsive City Politician. I am proud of our accomplishments this year and appreciate everyone's support as this City Council continues to move our great city toward being more competitive for the recruitment of business, industry and better paying jobs," said Robertson "Our resident's expectations are high and being named the Most Respected Civic Leader is a real honor. I continue to serve our great city putting policy over politics and doing the right things for the right reasons. I am appreciative of our resident's support as I continue to work to make Fayetteville a safer place to live and raise a family. Again, for the second year in a row, Fayetteville has realized a double digit reduction in the crime rate. I will continue to address issues like this, head on, to meet the expec- tations of our residents," he concluded. Most Responsive County Politician Jimmy Keefe PO Box 1829 910.678.7771 or www.co.cumberland.nc.us Jimmy Keefe is a native of Faytteville. Raised the son of U.S. Special Forces soldier, Keefe learned about civic responsibility from an early age. As a local business owner, Keefe knows the importance of a strong community and a strong economy in the success of any community. To that end, he has in- volved himself in local politics for a number of years. He was elected to the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners as a District 2 representative from 2008-2012 and was re-elected in 2012 for a four-year term. He served as chairman of the board of com- missioners in 2013, after serving one term as vice chairman. Commissioner Keefe was also elected to two terms on the Fayetteville City Council from 2001- 2005. He was appointed to serve on the N. C. Commu- nity Corrections Advisory Board representing urban county commissioners. Keefe is always asking, "What do you need? That's something local residents can get behind because not only does he ask what the community needs, he gets busy to make sure if it is at all possible they get it. Fayetteville residents have spoken, letting Keefe know juas as he heard them, they see his work on their behalf. Thank you for voting us 425-6667 • gatesfour.com
