November 21, 2012 Art Guild updates Wow, time does fl y. It seems we were just planning our fall schedule. We have already completed the an- nual rock painting event. There are some awesom artiists here in Quartzsite,and some very awesome rock paintings. Look for the map in the paper and check them out!! The "Harvest Festival" was Sat the 10th. Even though it was cold, we had a cheery crowd, it seemed everyone had a great time. The Art Guild dis- plays were beautiful. A BIG "Thank You" to everyone who participated. I also would like to thank the GFWC Quartzsite Women's Club for inviting us to share this event with them. Our Art Show and Sale is coming up fast. So mark your calendars for Dec 7th and 8th, 2012. Once again we will have door prizes every hour, voting for "The Best Of Show" and a $50.00 cash raffl e. Tickets available at the show. Also John Romanko has donated 4 paintings depicting the 4 seasons to be raffl ed off, tickets available at the show. Lunch, deserts and coffee will be served both days. The Art Show And Sale will be held at the Quartzsite Senior Center on Moon Mt. Ave. from 9am to 4pm on Friday and from 9am to 3pm on Saturday. The raffl es will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday. Residents of Quartzsite are invited to be the guests of Rainbow Acres for these tournaments which prove to be lots of fun every year. The purpose is to have a good time, meet new and old friends and pos- sibly be a winner with your picture in the Desert Messenger. The tourna- ment entrance fee is $6 and we have a shotgun teeoff time of 9:00. There will be long drive competition and closest to the pin for men and women with each tournament. There are updated ladies' tees in place for this year. Mark your calendar now and join in the fun!
