No matter what is going on outside of us, there's always something we could be grateful for." — Barry Neil Kaufman Welcome Back Snowbirds! Sometimes it's not so easy to be grateful. I'm fully aware that our world is full of anger and frustration. Anger and frustration breed more of the same. However, Gratitude and peace of mind breeds more of the same, also. The pain of the suffering of those being caught up in fi ghting that they have not chosen saddens my heart. However, to take that pain out on someone else is not the answer. When we sit back and judge others, we add to the seperation in our soci- ety. When we feel the pain of those suffering, no matter what the color of their skin, it opens up our hearts to the similarities amongst us. Many of us in America have so much to be grateful for. Even in our Quartzsite Greeting Cards & Post Cards Cards for All Occasions! Buy "Made in USA"! Quiet Times 90 E. Main St., Quartzsite 928-927-8081 own community, folks in need can receive help from our local food bank, thrift stores, and churches. Generosity feeds our souls, fi lling up those dark crevices created from our pain of suf- fering. Those who give of themselves with time, money and energy also need to recharge themselves, to be able to continue giving. I have often coached others in crisis to create a list of things they're grate- ful for. With so much change upon our world, giving into fear is not an option. Having an attitude of Grati- tude really does instantly change our perseption of live around us. Gratitude really is a shortcut to fi nd- ing peace of mind. There's always be something to be angry about, but if we let it run our lives, we lose out on all the joy of being alive! Count your blessings, enjoy family and friends this holiday, and share your bounty with others. Remember, focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy happens while giving.
