Road on Tuesdays thru the 2nd Tues- day of April. 8:30 to 3:00. At our business meeting we voted to donate to the Food Bank, the Senior Center, Library and either the school or after-school program. These donations were made possible by the generous support of the community either buy- ing tickets on our raffl e quilt and or attending our quilt show in February. We will be back at the Senior Center in October ready for a new year of sew- ing and friendship. New members are always welcome. Quilters update By Oney Budge Quartzsite - The Southwestern Roundup Art Show and Author Signing was another fun fi lled event raising $700 for our Community. The Show, held at the Mountain Quail RV Park Recreation Hall on Friday and Saturday, is a show of Fine Arts and Authors book signing. Grand door prizes donated from the community and Raffl e prizes won by Dorene Landers, Monte Rae Drager and Royal Drager. Submitted by Rev. Gary Boye, Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Blythe, CA The week before Easter, April 5, of- fers many family-friendly and mean- ingful activities for people in the Palo Verde Valley area. On Sun., March 29, a free hand-palm will be given to each worshiper at the 9 a.m. (PST) Palm Sunday Service. Palm Sunday commemorates the fi rst day of the fi nal week of Jesus' work and ministry. On Thurs., April 2, 6 p.m., a Holy Thursday Service will be conducted which commemorates The Last Supper of Jesus. After the service is completed, the altar and chancel will be stripped and prepared for Good Friday. On Fri., April 3, a brief, noon-time service will be held and another Ser- vice of Darkness will be conducted at 6 p.m. that day. Easter Sunday, April 5, is full of activi- ties celebrating the resurrection from the dead of Jesus and the hope for new life. An outdoor Sunrise Service will be conducted in Zion Church's east parking lot beginning at 6 a.m. A bal- loon ascent will be the closing climax of this come-as-you-are service. All are invited as well to an Easter Breakfast in the school yard from 7:30- 8:30 a.m. There is no cost. At 9 a.m., the main Easter Festival Service will take place in the sanctuary with festival hymns, Easter proclama- tion and Holy Communion. Closing out the 2015 Easter Day ac- tivities will be an Emmaus Walk along the Colorado River beginning at 6 p.m. This outdoor evening walk com- memorates one of Christ's resurrection appearances on Easter Day. All events are open to the public and all are at Pacifi c Daylight times. Zion Church and School are located at 721 E. Chanslorway, Blythe, CA. For more information, please call the offi ce at 760-922-7321, M-F, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Easter week in Blythe The Art Show is unique in its diversity of framed art, high qual- ity gourd work, leather embossing, scratch art, and new to the show with Slate Paintings by artist Gary Costa. Also new this year Water Colorist Lena Harting, and oils by Linda Klein. For our guest, addi- tion raffl e ticket were given out for playing our Artist Scavenger Hunt, or for every $25 spent at a booth. Tickets also given for bringing a non perishable food item to the door. Sheriff Christi Reese How- ard (also Native American model featured in several paintings) made her appearance by arresting each winner and escorting them to a booth to be bailed out by one of the artist or authors with a prize..
