March 18, 2015 www.DesertMessenger.com 7 OPINION Opinions expressed in letters to the editor do not necessarily represent those of the Desert Messenger. letters to the editor HAPPY WITH LESS Our consciousness is changing the world; we don't want to work at a job any more to make money. We want to be creative and use the power-the in- telligence- within us. Our conscious- ness is rising to a higher level of living and being. Our jobs went to other countries because we do not want to labor from 9-5. We are in a transi- tion; it's a beautiful, wonderful world coming to us now, with our mind, our consciousness. Our new jobs will come from our imagination. We have to start anew, just like our forefathers did when they invented all the things we use now. Our imagination, our determina- tion, our desires, our needs will come from us, not some hungry, greedy mind that brainwashes us into believ- ing bigger is better; bigger homes, bigger cars brought us heartache. The American Dream is a scam. We need to realize we can be happy with less. Less is more; more time, more space, peace within, harmony and less stress we put on ourselves. Our country is going under because we are tired of working for dishonest people who have their claws out. When we stop, they will stop. When we change, our government will change. People will stop having children they can't afford to educate. When we stop producing children, our government will have to get smaller. The kids won't be here to support big government. Fight for what? So the CEOs can live in bigger houses and you don't even have your limbs? I was always against war and fear based religions which stress God's anger. That ruined our society in our mind. If we believe in good love and let the brain tell us what to do, pay attention and let it happen on its own. When we are in LOVE with the God of love who lives in your brain, you will know when and what to do, because you listened to your inner guidance which is always right. Patricia Weissner Quartzsite NERVOUS PUBLIC I have fear that we have an inept town council. They don't seem to ac- cept the theory of move ahead. They are so busy blaming the past it's next to impossible for them to move ahead. Apparently it's damn the citizens full speed aback. It looks as if they want to work their own pet peeves and per- sonal prejudice. Look how quick they moved on a couple of demands of the mayor. Things that he was pouting about. Are they pawns thereof? The newly installed members seem poorly qualifi ed to work together with others. I believe a council should be bonded together for one purpose. Protect, preserve and maintain the rights of all. Not to satisfy their own perceived wants and dislikes and par- ticularly those of a disgruntled mayor. Quit wasting time and get with the real world. The mayor has let it be known for years; what his personal goals of destruction are for Quartzsite and you are well on your way to helping him achieve those goals. You have a nervous public on your hands and that does not bode well for any town. (The content of your meetings seem to have a fl avor of prior collaboration.) Elmer F. London Quartzsite THANK YOU A Special Thank You to our Bingo Players at the Senior Center. You have brought in over $1,640.00 in can goods and contributed over $1,692.00 in cash. All for the Quartzsite Food Bank Thank you all. Donna Vokes Senior Center Bingo PLEASANT WINTERS I want to express my appreciation to the residents of our park, Arizona Sun Village. A few of the guys got together and fi xed a broken fence, the gate and installed a bulletin board. It saved us residents a lot of money by doing the work ourselves. There was also a "clean-up" day that left the place even more beautiful. I am so grateful to spend my Winters in a place that is not only pleasant, but that keeps us safe. Having a gated community, fi re hy- drants throughout and plenty of lights gives us that secure feeling. What a wonderful place Quartzsite is! Lee Benson Winter Resident BIG SUCCESS Thanks to all who attend the Holiday Palms Music Sale last week. It was my fi rst and a big success. We plan to con- tinue it next season. As the founder Ruel Teague won't be returning to Quartzsite so hope to carry it on for him. Conra & Todd Marsh THANK YOUS Thank you to Dr LD Lumpkin of Lake Havasu who gave me a monitor since mine was going out, What a huge save for me. Thank you to TOPS 0078 for nomi- nating me to be the person to send out cards for birthday, sympathy, get well, thinking of you, email reminders for our group. It will be such a great pleasure to do this, I will NOT let them down. A lot of our group is starting to leave for 'summer' may they all have safe trips and come back soon. Thank you to Uta, Betty, Shelley, Glenna, my neighbors, for taking the fur children for walks (and chasing them down when they get past me.) They all have been great life savers for me, so sad everyone is just about to leave for the summer already . Thank you to Ms. Jenny and Paul. When I was told that my brakes are gone, Paul said he will come and check it out, before I get ripped off. They have saved me so much and my nerves. They have been my fur children / mine guardian angels. Call Don 928-927-3080 208-255-6955 Don's Rocks Decorative Landscaping Hauling, Dumptruck & Backhoe Services WE'RE BACK!
