In 1934, where her father got a job in the oil fi elds. Marsha lived in southern California until she transferred with her job to Manhattan, New York in 1975. She retired in 1995 and moved to Queens, New York where she lived until 2005. Ill health brought her to Quartzsite in 2007, from Washington state, where she lived until her death February 19, 2012. Marsha grew to love Quartzsite and could be seen riding her "scooter" around town. She enjoyed going to the bank and library and riding the shuttle bus here and there. She had a good sense of humor and loved a good joke. On her 80th birthday, she was able to return to New York for a holiday to see old friends. She will be missed by her family. She is survived by one living sister, Mary Ellen Barrett, of Green Valley, Ariz.; Debbie Foote of Quartzsite, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews in California, Washington and Arizona. She was preceded in death by one son, her parents, three sisters and her husband. Her family held a memorial service in Green Valley, Arizona on March 24th. The family would appreciate contributions be made to the Cancer Society. For more information please call 928-927-8811. Donald George Falk Donald George Falk, 79 years of age Quartzsite, AZ passed away March 16, 2012 at Hospice of the Val- ley, Gardiner Home in Phoenix, AZ after suffering a stroke. He was born in Saum, MN April 19, 1932 where he grew up on the family farm. After graduat- ing from Kelliher High School. Don married Joann Vandergrift and they had 2 sons. In 1957 they moved to Idaho and then western Montana where he worked for the US Forest Service at Savenac Nursery. In 1963 the family moved to Bozeman where Don became a student again and earned a bachelors degree in Industrial Arts from Montana State University and continued his career with the Forest Service. In 1977 Don and Joann visited Quartzsite and fell in love with the sunshine and became snowbirds for the next nine years. He retired from the Forest Ser- vice after 30 years and he and Joann moved to Quartzsite, AZ in 1985. After building a house he worked for the Southwest Telephone Company for 2 years and he and Joann were campground hosts for ten seasons in the Flagstaff area. One of Don's favorite pastimes was turning out wood bowls on the lathe and cutting out wood artwork on the scroll saw. His proudest accomplishment was rebuilding a 1948 Allis Chalmers model G tractor which he displayed at antique car events around Quartzsite. He is survived by his wife, Joann of Quartzsite, Arizona; sons Duane of Guelph, Canada; and Dale of Andalusia, Alabama; grandsons James and Mi- chael, great granddaughter Allie, brother Glen, and niece Barbara Schmidt. Don had many skills and talents which he used to help friends, neighbors and anyone in need. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a generous, honest, humor- ous man, a loving husband, and great father but most of all...a Grandpa to the many children who he welcomed into his life. Don donated his body to science and a family service will be held to remember his life. His family would like to give special thanks to the Quartzsite Fire Depart- ment EMTs, Life Flight, the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at St Joseph's Hospital and the Hospice of the Valley, Gardiner Home for the comfort and compassion they gave to Don during his fi nal journey. In lieu of fl owers we ask that Don be remembered with a gift to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
