These go to the military families who can use them up to 6 months after expiration. Collection boxes are placed in businesses around Town and at the Post. Please help us in this endeavor to assist our Veterans.We are also collecting labels for the school. CALENDAR OF EVENTS:. Fridays is Fish Fry night at the Post – 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. $8.50 donation Last night is March 20th. March 25 – Enchilada dinner – 4:00 p.m. till gone -- $8.00 – Last meal to be served at Current Post. April 4 – ALL FOOL'S DAY at NEW VFW BUILDING – lots of activities: ATV Poker Run Breakfast Biscuits and Gravy or Egg Scramble at 8:30 a.m. ($5.00 donation) ATV scramble begins at the Military Museum following break- fast; raffles, egg eating contest; bake sale; live music; live auctions; "Fools Beer"; hot dogs or hamburgers for lunch; lantern release at dusk; and more. Come join us as we celebrate our move to the previous Palo Verde Café on N. Central. This day will be a smoke free building at our new Post. There were more than 90 golfers participating in this year's tournament. The ladies' division was won by Colene Mason. Her 42 was the best round ever posted by a lady and this is the 3rd time she has won the event in its 18 year history. Winning the trophy for the +71 year olds was LeeRaye Christner with a 18th Quartzsite Masters winners announced 53. Winning the 56-70 age division was Connie Michel with a 47. The winner for those ladies 55 & under was Annette Silverthorn with a round of 50. In the men's divison, Jerry Taylor won the title for the 3rd consecutive year with a 37. The men's trophy for men +71 went to Mac McLean who fi red a 39. The 56-70 division was won by Dennis Dole with a 39. In the 55 & under category, the winner was Kirk Peterson with a round of 43. For the special events, closest to the pin, Annette Silverthorn won hole #1 with a hole in one. Colene Mason was closest on #9 for the women. Men's hole #1 was won by Bill Coleman with a hole in one. Earl Gunselman took the prize for closest to the pin on #9. Jerry Taylor won on hole #18 with a hole in one. The VFW served a wonderful lunch for participants and would like to thank Navy veteran, Nate, for his help with the BBQ of pork roasts. Women of the Ladies' Auxilliary assisted with preparing and serving the lunch. Men's Auxilliary com- mrades were involved with preparation, set up and take down. Mary McAllister did a fantastic job creating the raffl e baskets which were a big hit with the crowd. A big thank you for all the donations and sponsors of VFW Post 769.
