Here are some tips to better prepare you & your family: MUST DO: • Have an emergency plan if someone in your household relies on electrically powered life support • Keep emergency supplies such as FAMILY EMERGENCY KIT: • A 3 day supply of water & food that won't spoil • Change of clothing & one blanket or sleeping bag per person flashlights & extra batteries in a place that's easily accessible in the dark • A first aid kit that includes prescriptions • Emergency tools including a batterypowered radio, flashlight & plenty of extra batteries • When storing water, be sure to use clean containers • Locate the main electric fuse box and water service main. This award recognizes "good neighbor" activities that demonstrate the commitment of the utility and its employees to the community. PWC supports more than 400 community events and programs every year. Examples include partnering with United Way of Steve Blanchard, CEO/General Manager accepts Community Cumberland County to launch NC-211, a free 24-hour, multi-lingual (center),Award onthe APPA PWC Service behalf of telephone referral service and activities to support military personnel based at Fort Bragg with career transition assistance. PWC also partnered with Sustainable Sandhills and Cumberland County Schools on the "Go Green" Initiative - working with students at more than 60 local schools to teach them about personal responsibility for the earth, and assists schools evaluate every aspect of their environmental impact.
