MEDIA NIGHT LIFE Best Venue/Club for Live Music/ Best Neighborhood Bar/Best Bartender Latitude 35 Bar & Grill 1217 Hay St. 910.485.4777 www.facebook.com/pages/Latitude-35 Latitude 35 brings a taste of the islands to Haymount, inviting its patrons to kick back, relax and live in the moment. The food is a Caribbean-inspired treat, which features everything from barbecue to seafood. As much as the eatery is known for its food, it's gaining a reputation as a cool place to take in live-music. Every weekend the Tiki Hut comes to life with performances by a variety of bands. Haymount residents wind their way down to their favorite watering hole for great food, great music and great times with their neighbors and friends. Much like the television bar Cheers, when you enter Latitude 35, most people know your name, and, when Michael Thrash was behind the bar, you can be sure he would not only know you, but would pour you your favorite libation. Thrash is well-known in the community for his time on stage at the Cape Fear Regional Theatre, but folks at Latitude know him as the Best Bartender in town. This year, the restaurant earned bragging rights for the Best Venue/Club for Live Music, Best Bartender and Best Neighborhood Bar. Head down and change your attitude at Latitude 35. Best Local Musician/Band The Several Devils Band The Several Devils Band has a repeat performance in this category, taking the title in the 2012 Best of Fayetteville survey. The band's name is a play off the mountain town called Seven Devils. While visiting the town, one of the band members heard a clerk mispronounce the name of the town as Several Devils and the name stuck. The band, which identifies with '70s bands like Marshall Tucker, The Allman Brothers and The Charlie Daniels Band sees its role as providing high-energy music that people can understand and relate to. Headed by Adrian Warwick, the band is made up of a friendly group of guys who never meet a stranger. They perform frequently at local Fayetteville music venues and have developed quite a following. It's no surprise that they have again been named the Best Local Band. Best of Fayetteville SEPTEMBER 18-24, 2013 UCW 13
