Concert oncert C THE BUZZ In Their Own Words by STEVE TURLEY In Their Own Words In this week's "The Buzz" we are checking in with Francesca Battistelli, Natalie Grant, Matthew West and Ryan Stevenson as they tell us about their latest releases. Newsboys' new project The latest offering from the Newsboys is appropriately titled Restart. When I asked drummer Duncan Phillips about it recently he said, "Restart is probably one of my most favorite records. We worked two years on this … we really chased the art. With everything Newsboys it's gonna be spiritually sound, that doesn't The Newsboys are among many new music artists go away. But we really put a lot with new releases out. of work and effort into the art side, into the music side, and I think we ended up getting a superior product." Francesca Battistelli Strangely Dim is actually inspired by my dad. He's in a place in his life where he is just waiting on God for a lot of things. We've all been there to some extent. I've found in my life that if I'm looking down at the things I can't control and the things that stress me out, I can get discouraged. Just like the old hymn said, if I turn my eyes on Jesus, that's where hope is, that's where clarity is and that's where he is. No matter where you are, if you focus on him, the things of this earth will pass away. Natalie Grant "It's been awhile since I've put out new music, and I couldn't be more excited for my new song "Hurricane" to be released. I pray it'll be a reminder that no matter how rough the situation, we are never alone. There's hope in every storm,". Matthew West "I am absolutely blown away by this run that 'Hello' has had!" exclaims West. "Many thanks to all the radio stations across the country for letting the song and its message reach the hearts of listeners. I've always seen 'Hello, My Name Is' as a three minute reminder that we are not our failures. We are not even our successes. Of all the names that try to define us, the only title that truly matters is the one given to us by our creator; children of God. We are children of the one true King!" Ryan Stevenson Stevenson's initial release from Gotee Records, the EP Holding Nothing Back, was just released digitally. In the words of the man who discovered him, "Ryan is an impressive songwriter who understands the delicate balance of writing songs about his faith and walking it out in a cold, cold world," said TobyMac. "He never shies away from a 'Jesus' lyric, 'cause he is fully aware of where his strength comes from." A few new projects coming out on Sept. 24 are: "Your Grace Finds Me" by Matt Redman "Wanted" by Dara MacLean STEVE TURLEY, Station manager Christian "The Ascension" by Phil 107.3 COMMENTS?
