November 7, 2012 Quartzsite, Arizona - As of press time, 9pm Tuesday night, 8 out of 12 pre- cincts in La Paz County reported in. La Paz County has 9,757 Registered Voters. In a hotly contested race, the unoffi cial results are: Republican D.L. Wilson (319 votes, 46.57%) will be La Paz County Super- visor District 1 (Parker area), beating Democrat Mesena Gilbert (211 votes, 30.8%), and Independents Carl Juan (42 votes, 6.13%) and Bobby Page (113 votes, 16.5%) In La Paz County District 2 (Quartz- site north of I-10) Republican King E. Clapperton received 1107 votes with 61.03%, He beat Democrat Richard Dinolfi (377 votes, 20.78%) and In- dependent Andy Neill with 320 votes and 17.64%. La Paz County District 3 (includes www.DesertMessenger.com Unofficial Election Results La Paz County Quartzsite south of I-10) Holly Irwin, Republican, won with 665 votes and 61.8% over Independent Paul Hale who received 410 votes and 38.1%. In the race for Sheriff, Republican John Drum (2150 votes, 58.89%) beat out Democrat Candy Escorza (978 votes, 26.79%) and Independent Jose Moreno (503 votes, 13.78%) The fi ve Write-in candidates for County Attorney received 1062 votes total. The write-in results will be an- nounced at a later date. For County Treasurer, Leah Castro won, running unopposed. Janice Shelton regained her position as County School Superintendent.
