November 7, 2012 | S. R G-B www.DesertMessenger.com Halloween fun around Quartzsite Halloween Carnival By Joanne Winer Lots of costumed kids and adults turned up at Town Hall last Wednesday for a Halloween Carni- val and Haunted House. The car- nival was done this year instead of the Halloween Caravan because of | S BC transportation problems that prevent- ed the 21 year tradition from taking place. The carnival had lots of games for the kids, with prizes, free cot- ton candy and caramel apples, crafts, and lots of screams from the haunted house (library). Many people com- mented that they missed having the caravan this year, including the many RV parks and businesses that the Car- avan stopped at each year. The resi- dents who participated in this annual event were disappointed that the kids would not be coming, and it is hoped to bring it back next year if issues can be straightened out. Talking to the kids who went from trunk to trunk trick or treating (people brought candy and gave it out from the trunks of their vehicles) everyone was having a great time, so maybe a new tra- dition can also be added!! thanks to all who participated by bringing candy for trunk or treat and also thanks to all vol- unteers who made it such a great suc- cess for carnival and haunted houses.
