Gates Four has two USTA tennis courts, a beautiful 3,600-square-foot outdoor pavil- ion home of the Gate Four Summer Concert Series and the 10-acre Rockfish Park, with fitness trail, a toddler play area, swings and a picnic area. Gates Four also hosts the Fayetteville Dinner Theatre and the Cumberland County Golf Championship. There's no doubt it is the best of the best Fayetteville has to offer in golf, leisure living, dining and family fun and entertainment. Best Place to Commune with Nature Cape Fear Botanical Garden 536 N. Eastern Boulevard 910-486-0221 or www.capefearbg.org Cape Fear Botanical Garden, a longtime Best of Fayetteville winner, is a 33-years-and-counting gem in our community. It's an 80-acre oasis of beau- tiful plant life, specialty gardens, winding paths and still ponds situated between the Cape Fear River and Cross Creek. A convenient drive from downtown Fayetteville, the garden provides city dwell- ers with a serene getaway. The garden wins year after year not only because of its beautiful grounds but also because of its engagement with the community. Its annual events include the enchanting Holiday Lights in the Garden, Boo-tanical in the Garden (a Halloween event), art and education workshops and weekly offer- ings of tai chi and yoga. CFBG's specialty gardens include Camellia, Daylily and Shade Gardens, a Butterf ly Stroll, the Children's Garden and the Heritage Garden. The Heritage Garden features 1886 agricultural structures and a homestead. Guided tours are also available. Earlier this year, their "Garden Gone Wild" specialty exhibit opened and will be featured around the grounds until December 31. With all these enticing sights, it's easy to understand why our readers con- tinue to vote CFBG as the best place to commune with nature.
