P��� 6 Nugget Wranglers updates The first monthly meeting and outing of The Nugget Wranglers Prospecting Club was held at a claim in the Quartz- site area on October 30. A demonstra- tion was given by member Glen of his new high production dry washer called the Gold Extreme and gold was found. Lunch was our world famous Hobo Stew. The next meeting and outing will be at the Tom Wells claim. Bring your rigs and plan to spend three or four days metal detecting and dry washing and evening campfires. Or visit the Nugget Wrangler website, www.nuggetwranglers.net ���.D�����M��������.��� Art Guild updates We had 11 people attend our meet- ing of Oct 21, at Ron and Jo Stoltz’s house, Mark Goldberg had 3 paintings all sketched out ready for us to start painting. Mary Huntley had them all primered for him. These will be for the Arizona Centennial coming up soon. Several of us got to start paint- ing on them and Mark showed us the technique and how to mix the paints. It is looking really good. Jo was a great hostess and served us delicious coffee, iced tea and cake. Our next meeting on Nov.4 will once again be at their house on 555 Conner Lane at Q Mountain Vista Park. So we can continue to paint on the art boards. We voted and decided to change our 425 N. The Quartz- site staff will host an Open House on Friday, November 5th from 3-7pm at the Quartzsite Learning Center located at 695 N. Kofa Ave. in Quartzsite. This event is intended to celebrate our current students, welcome back our winter visitors, and encourage the public to stop in to learn about the classes and services we offer. We will be offering a free bar-b-que, door prizes, various informational booths, Zumba demonstrations and demon- strations for using our online library services and Webadvisor program. This is an informal event; the com- munity is welcome to come and go at their leisure. Local high school stu- dents with an interest in attending AWC should also stop in to visit with the representatives that will be here from our main campus in Yuma. Dumpsters will be available on the Town lot east of Scholars’ Academy, 560 E. Coyote, for free trash and household goods disposal. No tires or white goods will be accepted.
