N������� 3, 2010 Are you a “No Kill Shelter”? Submitted by Patty Patton Animal Shelter Chairperson Well, yes and no. We are by definition, a “No Kill Shelter”, in the fact that we do not euthanize for over population. However, we are an “Open Door Shel- ter”. That means we accept animals regardless of their breed, behavior issues, or age. We do euthanize for serious medical issues and behavior issues that cannot be resolved or we find to be a hazard to the community. We are funded by donations from the community, including the Animal Thrift Store on Main Street. Without these donations, we would have to close our doors. Please give us a call, if you or someone you know has lost their pet. Regularly the Quartzsite Police and good Samaritans bring us stray animals for safe keeping. So check with us first. Feel free to come by and see the animals in our care. Please call 928-926-0657 first, just in case we have gone to the veterinarian for the day.
