P��� 18 ���.D�����M��������.��� Quartziste Rotary is gearing up for two fundraisers. For our 5th Annual Christmas Tree Changing Hearts...Changing Lives Through Worshipping God & Serving Others family friendly films JOIN US FOR GREAT MOVIES! 2ND & 4TH FRIDAYS Cartoons @ 6:30 pm Movie @ 7 pm Free refreshments • Sunday: Christian Education 9am Worship 10:30am Evening Worship 7pm • Wednesday: Bible Study 7pm Women’s Bible Study - 10am SERVICE TIMES: • Thursday: 12 Steps to Freedom 7pm • Friday: Discipleship Class 10 am Grow in your relationship with God and Wreath give-away we’re asking for donations of a Christmas tree 18 to 48 inches in height or a wreath approximately 9 to 18 inches across, completely decorated in a theme of your choice depicting the Holiday season, your business or hobby interests. Please tightly secure all decorations and deliver to Town Hall from November 15th through December 11th, 2010. If you are placing a tree or wreath at Town Hall to be given away, please be sure to fill in a Donation card. Rotary members will be selling tickets at $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The winning number will be drawn the week of December 12th, 2010. ALL proceeds from this event are distributed within our community to help bring happiness to those less fortunate than we are. Previous recipients of these fund have been: the Quartzsite Salvation Army for their annual food baskets, the Quartzsite Food Bank, the Quartzsite Fire Department Angel Tree and A gift of Life, to name a few. Our TV raffle tickets are $5.00 each or 6 for $20.00 and proceeds (in part) will go toward our Annual Scholarship Fund. These funds are awarded to a student who will be continuing their education after high school. All students are encouraged to submit an application. These funds are not limited to those who have been accepted at a college or university. Students attending a “trade school” may also apply for our N������� 3, 2010 Rotary asking for Christmas Trees scholarship. Previous recipients have been our fire department trainees, students interested in becoming beauticians, attendees to our local Western Arizona College and of course students attending a University. Rotary qualifications include a student’s attendance through high school, above a “C” or 2.5 grade point average, community involvement and an essay explaining your desire to continue your education, how you will strive to help your community and goals for your future and the future of your family. Other projects and events that our “Rotary Club” has supported are Highway 95 Adopt a Highway, participation in the annual 4th of July Celebration, Hi Jolly Parade and Christmas Light Parade. We are working with the Town of Quartzsite and BLM to secure property on the West side of Town for a neighbor park and will participate in the Arizona Centennial Celebrations by sponsoring one of the February 14, 2011 Happy Birthday Arizona – 1 year and counting events and the November 19, 2011 “Turkey Road Rally Hunt” If you are interested in purchasing a “ticket” for any of our fundraisers or need information regarding any of our events, Rotary Club members: Suzan Fonda – Horizon Community Bank, Barbara Cowell – Arizona WestCoast Realty, Violet Kiss, Andy Kiss, Doug Ross, Linda Ward, Chief Jeff Gilbert, Starr Bearcat or Angie Masales will be able to assist you.
