Chair r speaksspeaks Fayetteville Ranked Third in Top 20 Recession-Proof Cities Business headlines have not ex- actly been shouting good news lately; however, our community keeps get- ting some positive national headlines. According to The Daily Beast, the state of our economy is not all doom and gloom. And our city, has a lot more to smile about than other cities in the United States. According to The Daily Beast, Fay- Chris Bostock Business etteville, N.C., is ranked #3 in the top 20 recession proof cities in the U.S. According to the article, The Daily ssSpotlightSpotlight Beast set out to determine which cities are riding out the Great Recession, and identified 20 metropolitan areas, from North Carolina to Washington to Louisiana, that since 2007 have shown positive growth across three economic categories: their overall employment, per capita personal income and metro- politan area GDP. Employment data come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics; personal income and metropolitan area GDP are from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Each city was ranked individually within each category, then these rankings were combined to determine the final order. Employment and personal income were weighted at 45 percent, and GDP was weighted at 10 percent. Fayetteville For Sale on Chamber Site As many are aware, the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce provides free listings for available commer- cial, industrial, flex and office space on its website for local real estate professionals and property owners. With the start of the new fiscal year, the Chamber will be including the industrial land and building sites on the State website, providing the opportunity for ad- ditional exposure. In an effort to ensure the information posted on the avail- able property (land and building) listings is ac- curate, the Chamber is implementing the use of a new property information questionnaire. If you are a property owner and/or real estate agent, and would like to include your commercial, industrial, fl ex or offi ce space on the Chamber website, fi ll out the property information ques- tionnaire and email it to aquinn@fayettevil- lencchamber.org. Property Questionnaire can be located under the Economic Development tab on the Chamber website. Please include a photo for the listing.
