August 14, 2013 3 www.DesertMessenger.com Calling all crafters By Joanne Winer The Quartzsite Business Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring its 2nd annual Santa's Workshop Arts and Crafts Festival again this year at Tyson Wells Showgrounds. The event will be held on November 30 and December 1--a two day show. Last year's event was very successful and it promises to be even bigger and better this year. The show is for handmade items only, no vendors or suppliers. The theme of the show is Santa's Workshop, but not all the crafts have to be Christmas related. Crafters are asked to decorate their tables if possible and have tablecloths that reach the floor. Please be sure to bring your own chairs and tables. The cost of the festival will be a $25.00 donation that will cover both days. Each participant is also asked to donate one handcrafted item that can be raffled off during the event. Each space is 10 x 10 on the inside walls of the building, and around the building--the middle of the inside will have spaces 12 x 8 to accommodate foot traffic in the aisles. Names are now being taken for spaces, with preference given to indoor spaces for participants from last year, so there is limited amount of indoor spaces, but lots of outdoor areas are available. Applications will be available soon, and must be filled out and returned as soon as possible to reserve your space. The Business Chamber is sending out flyers and applications to every chamber and visitor's center in the southwest, as well as several places in California near here. They are hoping to bring in many more crafters to the festival, and more visitors to see what is available for that great gift to yourself or your family and friends. If you want to have some great fun, and like to do crafting, please join in and be part of this wonderful Arts and Crafts Festival. For further information, please call 928-927-9321.
