4 hours to spend? I prefer pickleball. You can get a workout in an hour. Do you attend activities in and around your neighborhood? Heron Creek Country Club has the best tennis community in the area. Besides league play there are organized themed events throughout the year on top of Club Champions and all the major Grand Slam events. Do you travel a great deal? For working people, I think we travel quite a bit. My family lives in California and Tennessee. Last year I took my mom to Kauai, Hawaii. My sons live in Colorado; a spring ski trip is planned. We are planning a trip to Australia this summer. What absolutely describes the best thing about your neighborhood? Our neighbors. Some of our neighbors are snowbirds, so it is nice to see them when they are here. The neighborhood is very quiet when they go back home. Getting to know Linda Britt Smith W hy did you choose to live where you do specifically? Price. We were living in Sarasota thinking about moving to Lakewood Ranch when we opened the newspaper and there was a full page spread of homes in Heron Creek Country Club advertising all homes on the golf course lots or preserves. At that time, you could get more house for money. I think it that has all changed now. Where did you move from? Sarasota. When my husband and I first moved to the Sarasota area, University Parkway was called County Line Road and it was just a two-lane road. We moved because the traffic was getting crazy in Sarasota! What is your occupation? I am the Recreation Coordinator at IslandWalk. For five years I commuted from North Port to Lakewood Ranch. I was ready to work closer to home. What hobbies do you have? I have played tennis most of my life. I am also an avid runner, although I am currently recovering from a running injury. Since getting my job at IslandWalk, I have become obsessed with pickleball. The pickleball community are the nicest people you would ever want to meet. What new activities have you joined or participated in since your arrival here?
