Many folks are moving from larger cities in the state or from other areas of the country to find their own piece of paradise. While they often are attracted by the water and sunshine, they cultivate something more precious that allows them to appreci- ate everyday: friendships. We profiled some residents who told us the friendly people — and pickleball — made their decision to move or retire here worthwhile. They also have found so many activities to do inside their communities and the surrounding areas that their calendars are full. This is the perfect time of year to invite those new-found friends to some of the less crowded venues and attractions in the area. There also are hundreds of restaurants to try and shorter lines for tables. There are plenty of beaches, parks and golf courses to explore and you can shop at fun spots up and down the coast. Make the most of your days and may your friendships multiple. Linda Gillis Features Editor
