ABOUT THE DISTRICTS Wellen Park is comprised of three districts: West Villages, Downtown Wellen and Playmore. West Villages District has approximately 9,000 residents spread across six neighborhoods: Gran Paradiso, Grand Palm, Renaissance, Oasis, Tortuga, IslandWalk and Sarasota National. Currently under construction and expected to open in fourth quarter 2022, Downtown Wellen is a mixed-use development that will become the central hub and gathering place for the mas- ter-planned community. Downtown Wellen will feature an 80-acre lake, retail shops, waterfront dining, pedestrian-friendly streets and public com- munity spaces that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Among many attractions planned for Downtown Wellen, visitors will be able to enjoy the lush Great Lawn and innovative, multipurpose Town Hall will host frequent celebrations, concerts and events. The younger set will love the unique natural playground and splash pad, designed to look like it's part of the surrounding landscape. People of all ages who want to get active can head to the 2.8- mile trail meandering around the 80-acre lake or rent a kayak or pad- dleboard from an outfitter operating near the floating dock. Playmore District neighborhoods make it easy to access the community's network of trails and attractions like CoolToday Park, the Atlanta Braves' spring training home.
