Please join us in celebrating the joy of Jesus in our lives! (in person or online – God will meet you there) Contemporary celebration: Sunday 9AM Traditional service: Sunday 10:30 AM Get the details... www.lakesidelutheran.net 2401 S Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL (941) 493-5102 Lakeside Lutheran Church adno=3840423-1 PAGE 61 311Connect is new portal to county services If you've got a cellphone, you've got a new way to connect to Sarasota County government. And it works over the internet and by landline too, though with less functionality. The county launched 311Connect to "help the community access all of the county's services in a variety of convenient ways," according to a news release. Download the 311Connect app for your Apple or Android device and you can pay your utility bill; see bus schedules and routes; check the libraries' collection; or make a service request — after creating an account — among other things. Or visit bit.ly/3qAJgCB online, which has a search function in a button labeled "Knowledge Base" and buttons for making a service request and for contacting the call center, which can also be reached by calling 311. Sarasota County's 311Connect is provided and supported by QScend, a web-based citizen request management system utilized by local and county governments. For more information, call the Sarasota County Contact Center at 311, call 941-861-5000 or visit SCGov.net. By Bob Mudge HCA opens Wellen Park medical office HCA Florida Englewood Hospital recently opened a new primary care center in Wellen Park. The new facility includes five exam rooms, physical therapy facilities and a pharmacy. "In our planning process, we designed the office to make the lobby large enough for small community events," HCA Florida Englewood Hospital CEO Steve Young said. "We will have health seminars and other events there." Young said HCA saw the need to bring services to resi- dents through the new facility. "The new facility will save patients from driving to Englewood for some of the same services," Young said. He said there will be 20,000 new homes coming to the region in the next few years, many of them heading to Wellen Park and surrounding subdivisions. Young said some of HCA's physicians/specialists will share time between the Englewood hospital and the new clinic. HCA is planning for future needs, he said. The 100-bed hospital in Englewood is undergoing a $10 million two-phase renovation. Along with adding new care facilities — like the bronchoscopy and endoscopy suites, 3D mammogram technology — the new part of the hospital is designed to improve the flow of emergency care for patients using the emergency room. The improvements allow for 18 patient care locations in the ER. By Elaine Allen-Emrich
