October 19, 2011 www.DesertMessenger.com We had a very nice meeting on October 6. Ron Stoltz did a great presentation on how to paint a meadow scene. The art guild members were asked to participate in the painting of it which was great fun. A few members brought their sunset paint- ings that were done at the last Sept. meeting for us to see how they came out. The Quartzsite Salvation Army held a ground breaking ceremony on Monday, October 10th at their new location of 100 S. Moon Moun- tain Road. Carol Kelley, Salvation Army Coordinator said, "I'm so glad we had a lovely turnout. I'm thrilled beyond words that we are finally getting our building!" Kelley shared the story of how the new property came to be. Local resident, Alice "Sally" Wills donat- ed the land to the Salvation Army. "This will be "Sally's Place" in honor of her."
