Say Good-bye to Summer at Fayetteville After 5 by PAMELA FORD On Sept. 20, head over to Festival Park to see the end-of-season concert at Fayetteville After 5. Two of the best bands around are scheduled to perform. Liquid Pleasure and The Tams bring a strong finish to what has been another memorable summer concert series. As the season quickly approaches its end and those cool Carolina nights begin to emerge, the memories of grooving to Fayetteville After 5 summer concerts at Festival Park are coming to a close. The Dogwood Festival and R.A. Jeffreys, a distributor of Budweiser, are preparing to end this season with a blast. This years season finale is sure to offer a great time and lots of fun for the entire family, so get ready and come early for the best seats in the house (the ones you bring). Bring a blanket or chairs and spread out on the lawn. Relax and enjoy the show. People will be on their feet all night jamming to the sounds of beach music with high energy beats and a taste of both original cuts and cover songs. Its the perfect way to end the summer dancing the night away. The Tams are no strangers to Fayetteville. They are a Fayetteville After 5 staple, and for good reason. The Tams have been performing since 1962, and lay claim to hits like Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy, Ive Been Hurt and Hey Girl. This group brings charisma, showmanship and memories both from the past and those waiting to be made every time they step onto the stage. Liquid Pleasure is another Fayetteville regular that fans love. The bands website boasts In the early years, the band was paired with greats like, Chuck Berry, Eddie Floyd and Ben E. King and later, Whitney Houston, The Four Tops, The Temptations and Aretha Franklin. Its no wonder concert goers cant sit still when this band is on stage. The gaming ride will be on site for anyone interested in playing video games. Also, the Budweiser Girls will give away prizes from the stage all night, but get there early because the best prizes go fast. Dogwood Festival 30th anniversary T-shirts will be available for $5 each and glow products will be on hand for the kids. Come out early for a chance to win the grand prize and join in on fun for the entire family. No pets and no coolers are allowed in the park area. No outside food or beverages are allowed within the park. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival. Gates open at 5 p.m. with the first show starting at 6:30 p.m. followed by the second show at 8:30 p.m. To receive a ticket for the big drawing you must arrive between 5 p.m. 6 p.m., and you might just win your fill of beer for a whole year.
