Most Respected Local Politician Judge Elizabeth Keever 12th District Court Judge Judge Elizabeth Keever has won the respect and admiration of the local community through hard work. Keever, a native of Yadkin County, came up in the judicial system working in the district attorney���s of���ce before taking the bench. That���s not the easiest job, and not one that wins you friends. But Keever has made friends and admirers, including her fellow judges who refer to her as a ���one in a generation kind of judge.��� She understands the pressures that come with the legal system and works hard to ensure the victim has his or her day in court. Chavonne, a former newspaper publisher, probably knows the City of Fayetteville better than anyone. He has made it his business. When you walk into a city council meeting, you can be guaranteed of a couple of things. One, at some point and time during the meeting someone is going to say something that comes from left field; two, Mayor Chavonne is going to bring them back to reality. He can do that because he knows the issues. He studies them. He educates himself on them; then he acts. That���s something for which Fayetteville residents have a lot of respect.
