36 SEPTEMBER 19-25, 2018 Best of Fayetteville WINE & DINE WINE & DINE Best Vietnamese Restaurant Saigon Bistro 1040 Bragg Blvd. 910-920-3587 As is the case with many privately- owned restaurants, it takes rave reviews and committed patrons to flourish. Saigon Bistro is one such successful establishment. It now tastes like home to this writer, who's often spent birthdays and reunions with family and friends at Saigon Bistro. So many memories made, food shared and leftovers taken home for a midnight snack have made Saigon Bistro the perfect place to introduce newcomers and Fayetteville natives alike to the diversity held within the borders of our town. Saigon Bistro infuses the fresh flavors of traditional Vietnamese dishes with the warmth and atmosphere one finds in a family-owned kitchen. Some of its most popular menu items are the bahn mi sandwiches, lemongrass chicken and pho. With countless sparkling recommendations, it's no surprise this bistro has won this category year after year. One Google reviewer gushed, "Delicious food! Casual atmosphere and kid-friendly... We eat here at least twice a month!" Do not be dissuaded by the lack of website from giving this local gem a try. There are pictures of its menu uploaded to Yelp, and any further questions can be directed to its on-site telephone during business hours. Saigon Bistro is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Best Vegetarian Cuisine • Best Vegan Restaurant CoreLife Eatery 2804 Freedom Parkway Dr. 910-475-1895 or corelifeeatery.com A strong new addition to Fayetteville's food scene as of June 15, 2018, CoreLife is located in the Freedom Town Center, which opened in 2017. One can only applaud CoreLife for its unique mission: "CoreLife Eatery is focused on healthy, active lifestyles. We source food locally and make every meal from scratch." This healthy spin on the make-your- own bowl style of eating is what keeps CoreLife busy from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. With everything from Mediterranean-inspired dishes to hearty, protein- packed veggie bowls, there is truly something for everyone. Every one of CoreLife's ingredients are free of GMOs, trans fats, artificial colors, sweeteners and other artificial additives. The chicken and steak are from sustainably raised animals that are never given antibiotics or hormones. Prior to its grand opening, CoreLife put its best foot forward as a strong supporter of Fayetteville's military population by hosting a Donation Day, with proceeds benefiting the USO of North Carolina. Its commitment to the community of Fayetteville in addition to the menu filled with countless flavorful combinations and many delicious vegetarian and vegan options led CoreLife to win the title of both Best Vegetarian Restaurant and Best Vegan Restaurant. Hailed as the guilt-free version of all your favorites, if you haven't already visited CoreLife, grab a friend and enjoy this brave new world full of greenery and made-from-scratch beverages.
