SEPTEMBER 19-25, 2018 UCW 35 Best of Fayetteville Best Seafood Restaurant 316 Oyster Bar 316 Owen Dr. 910-481-0530 or www.316oysterbar.com Local owners Wayne, Joyce and Rodney Horne love to have fun with their customers. They've been in business since 1995, serving up fresh seafood that arrives from the coast daily. One way they like to engage customers is by challenging them. Buy three roosters (raw oyster, saltine cracker, jalapeno pepper slice, horseradish, black pepper and hot sauce) and eat them all to win a free T-shirt. Drink a rooster shooter (raw oyster, beer, horseradish) in one gulp and the shot glass is yours to take home. For those not interested in this spicy challenge, the oyster bar offers steamed and raw oysters by the 1/2 peck for $22.99. And, of course, there's more than oysters — shrimp, snow crab legs, lobster tail and filet mignon, to name a few delicious menu items. Combine several favorites like mussels, clams, oysters, shrimp and sausage in a steam pot. For landlubbers, options include ribs, chicken, sirloin and fried pickle chips. 316 Oyster Bar is open Tuesday through Thursday 5-10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday 4:30-11 p.m. Best Southern Style Restaurant • Best Soul Food Fred Chason's Grandsons 5339 Marracco Dr., Hope Mills/3901 Ramsey St. 910-491-5756 /910 860-4899 or www.grandsonsbuffet.com Another year means another win for Fred Chason's Grandsons. A family- owned establishment with a plethora of homestyle dining options, favorite dishes of many Grandsons patrons include the mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, pulled pork and more. Fred Chason's grandsons, Todd and Matt Warga, opened the first restaurant of the Grandsons empire and have continued its expansion from Fayetteville to Hope Mills to the most recent addition in Raleigh at 4205 Fayetteville Rd. Offering the comfort of home sweet home, Grandson's is a place where everyone is welcome, and everyone is family. It's food like this that defines Southern living, and that is just how owners Sheryl and Todd Warga like it. "Our customers are the best because they are family," the pair said. "We are a family-owned business, and we want our customers to feel that when they walk through the door." Best Thai Restaurant Thai Pepper 195 Starpoint Dr. 910-864-2014 or https://order.thaipepperfay.com Although Thai Pepper has been under new ownership for a couple of years, it remains the oldest Thai restaurant in Fayetteville. Bob Hash and his crew continue to offer both Thai and American dishes and provide their customers the ease of online ordering via a convenient website. Thai Pepper offers full lunch and dinner menus along with takeout and delivery. Some of the featured dishes at the restaurant include pud thai, or pad thai, pud kee mow or drunken noodles and gang pen, which is red coconut milk curry. All meals are prepared by the cooks to order. The buffet features as many as 25 different items that are changed regularly, so don't expect to see the same things on the menu every day. Thai food is a popular choice for many people because of its emphasis on bright and explosive flavors. Thank you Fayetteville for voting us Best Bakery!
