Spirit Walk 2012: Saturday October 27th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. of Cemetery Road off of B10 in Quartz- site.) There will be 12 actors/actress- es portraying 12 dearly departed pio- neers of Quartzsite. These tales of our unique pioneers offer insight into the early days of Quartzsite's history. Sponsored by the Cemetery Board, this is a fun, historical walk into the At the Hi Jolly Cemetery. (at the end past, with members (actors-actresses) of the community hamming it up at se- lected gravesites. The players (Spirits) at these gravesites will fi ll you in on their history and wee bit of blarney. The why they came, how they died and what they did in-between is what it's all about. The setting is the early to mid 1900's and the residents here LOVE visitors. The characters' stories are researched thoroughly and tastefully portrayed using old newspaper clippings, death certifi cates and census records. The actors/actresses take the script and develop a presentation that includes a colorful costume, props and some- times a surprise or two transform- ing themselves into the "spirits" of Quartzsite's past. Come and take a tour of our Pio- neer section of the Hi Jolly Cemetery and let the players lead you back to a time when water was scarce, the heat deadly and they depended on their neighbors to live. Town seeking volunteer board members The Town of Quartzsite is looking for volunteers to fi ll positions on the following boards: Planning and Zoning Board, Library Board, Health and Development Board, Public Safety Board. Anyone interested in serving on any of these boards, please fi ll out a Vol- unteer Statement found online at the town website, www.QuartzsiteAZ.com or come into the offi ce located at 465 North Plymouth Avenue, Quartzsite. 928-927-4333.
