VFW Auxiliary 769 Legislative Chair- man, Mary Ann Peck has invited can- didates running for County, State and National offices to meet with you, the voter, at the Quartzsite Improvement Association (QIA). This is another chance for you to have the opportuni- ty to make your choice before voting in the November 6th election. Candidates will have time to briefly explain their agenda if elected. This will be followed by a chance for candidates to answer written ques- tions from the voters and a time for you to mingle and visit one-on-one with the candidates to gain additional information in making your deci- sions. Bring a written question with you addressing a particular office. If you can't come at the opening of this event, come and meet with the candi- dates as early as you can. Quartzsite Art Guild updates Well, fall is here and everyone is anxiously awaiting the migration of the Snow Birds back to our little town. Our Art Guild members are returning from their summer ad- ventures as well, and we are excited to begin a new season. It's great to meet twice a month to share our friendships and our talents. KBUX Quartzsite Radio 94.3 FM http://kbuxradio.com • Quartzsite's Favorite "CLASSIC HITS" • Local Information • Weather • 24 Hours Day / 7 Days Week! 928-927-5111 First locally-owned and operated music station in Quartzsite, Arizona. Proudly serving the communities of Quartzsite, Bouse, Brenda, Rainbow Acres, La Paz Valley and beyond, since 1988. At the Sept. 20th meeting, we experi- mented with color mixing. It's easy to mix yellow and blue to get green. But you must have the right yellow and the right blue to make the green you want for your painting. As you know there are many different tones of yellows and blues to choose from on the market for both oils and acryl- ics. The most vivid green is achieved by mixing Thalo Blue and Cad Yellow Light. For a muddier green, mix Ul- tramarine Blue and Cad Yellow. The three primary colors are red, yellow and blue. All other colors are made from these three. You don't have to know how to mix paints to be an artist, but it is great to be able to mix basic colors. It's a lot of fun, please come join us, 1st and 3rd Thursday each month. The Art Guild has been invited by the Quartzsite Women's Club to partici- pate in their Harvest Festival Beer and Wine Tasting Extravaganza ! We are very excited to be a part of this event, Nov. 10, from 4-8 PM. Fine Wine and Fine Art just seem to go together. We would like to invite our local artist to come join us for a great evening of Fine Art, Spirits and munchies. You do not have to be a member if the Art Guild to participate in this Art Show and Harvest Festival. Please call Jo Stolts for more info at 928-951-6549.
