NO TONERS, PLEASE DROP OFF LOCATIONS: • Horizon Community Bank • Quartzsite Library • Senior Center • General Store • Business Chamber Sponsored by Proud Neighbors of Quartzsite www.DesertMessenger.com corruptions, 2) Chief does not want to be in politics, 3) Many of the things he did were directly ordered by Taft and he had to obey as she was his boss, 4) Chief was NOT part of the corruption, in fact, he started seeing things go wrong and was on the 'outs' with the town manager over a year ago. 5) If Chief was working with Taft and her cronies, why do you think they were trying so hard to get rid of Chief Gil- bert? 6) If the Council had terminated Chief Gilbert, he would have a HUGE legal action against the town because he has been exonerated over and over. Not everyone has to like Chief, but he PERSPECTIVES FROM PAGE 17 together with the rest of the town and almost all now agree something really bad went on inside town hall. Chief Gilbert and the rest of us who care about Quartzsite want the interim town manager to seek out all the prob- lems and get things tidily ready for ter- minations and possible prosecutions. That is now being investigated and resolved by the interim town manager, along with a new confl ict attorney and town council working in unison, as it should be. EVERYONE SHOULD BE REJOICING. The dissident "group 2" does not does his job no matter what side you are on. No one can deny that Chief Gil- bert has kept Quartzsite a safe place to live. If you do belligerent, aggressive things, you will be treated as such. If you deserve to be cited, you should be. There are two sides in the dissident's camp: 1) Good people who believe the town is corrupt and wanted to fi x that, and 2) People who want the town's disincorporation to get rid of all Rules and Law. Many of those are self-pro- claimed Libertarians. The majority of those who believed the town was cor- rupt and needed to be fi xed have come want any law here. Do you really think they'd like any Police Chief or Sheriff they couldn't totally control? If Chief Gilbert wasn't here, there's no ques- tion they would be doing the same to that person! Do you know how many Police Chiefs, Quartzsite had before Chief Gilbert? Many lasted only a very short time. The chance is great for this cleans- October 3, 2012 possibly even before with typical Hat- fi eld versus McCoy mentality that ex- ists in small towns. Where is our town today? The great majority of us want a comfortable, safe place to live, want town govern- ment here but want transparency and all corruption gone. It appears that is now within our reach. Those Libertarians, New Patriots, or whatever they want to be called, will not stop in Quartzsite. They do not want any government or laws or police. This small group seems to feel they can sue the town over and over for stupid little things and even though they may lose all of the cases, the tremendous cost to the Town will cause Quartzsite to be bankrupt and be dis-incorporated. I understand there were at least fi ve new lawsuits by these individuals last week. We can choose to let these few radi- ing, but the dissidents just won't let go until this town literally goes under. As usual, greed and politics have gone rampant with this small group. What happened here over the last 2-3 years is not new as we all know. Quartzsite's has a new 'event' just about every 3-5 years since its incorporation in 1989, NOTICE to Advertisers: Please check your ad(s). We'd end up like Aguilla where people wear side arms and use them! Or, we can choose to clean up the corruption and get our town's affairs in order with the help of Laura Bruno and jointly fi ght these radicals who want no government, rules or law here.
