The latest rumor flying around town was that someone thought the National Guard was in- vading Quartzsite and targeting people walk- ing in the washes. The fact is Quartzsite Police Dept. has been loaned a hum vee, along with other agencies around the coun- try. QPD sometimes uses the hummer for checking on cars parked illegally in the washes.
