The Chamber Cow- boy Golf Tournament Fri- day will have more prizes than ever, with a $500 cash award and a Lincoln Town Car going to the closest to the pin on the 15th and 18th holes at Wilcox Oaks Golf Club this year. First Prize teams will win flat screen TVs. Other prizes include barbecues, rodeo tickets and more. Tee off is set for 9 a.m. Friday. This is the best tournament of the year. Tractor Supply Com- pany, in partnership with National 4-H Council, re- cently a n nou nced the launch of its spring 2014 Paper Clover Campaign. The company raised more than $3.2 million for 4-H programs across the country through the Paper Clover Campaigns over the last four years. Customers have the op - portunity to purchase pa- per clovers between April 23 – May 4 for $1 or more during checkout. All funds raised will be used to sup - port 4-H youth develop- ment program activities in the communities where Tractor Supply stores are located. "We were so thrilled by the results of last year's Paper Clover Campaign, and with the help of our dedicated customers we hope to meet and exceed that goal this year," said John Wendler, senior vice president of Marketing. "Partnering with 4-H gives us the opportunity to en - hance our store's commu- nities and provide support to local organizations." In just four years, across 48 states, the 4-H Paper Clover Campaign has pro - vided more than $2 million to 4-H across the country. The effort has provided direct support for local camps, after-school pro - grams and other activities, and has granted scholar- ships to these events that youth can explore their in- terests in everything from animal science to robotics. "This event marks the fourth year of collabora - tion with Tractor Supply Company," said Jennifer Sirangelo, president and CEO, National 4-H Coun - cil. "This continued rela- tionship provides us with the necessary resources to manage and strengthen our 4 -H orga nizations across the U.S." Tractor Supply Com - pany, listed on the NAS- DAQ Stock Exchange as TSCO, operates more than 1,245 stores in 48 states. 4-h Retailer holds fundraiser The Miss Corning Schol- arship Program will be held Saturday, May 17, at the Veterans Memorial Hall and there is still time to get in your application, but the deadline is Friday. The first meeting will be Monday, April 21. If you know of a young girl between 16 and 19 who might be interested, please let them know that they can get the application and in - formation online at www. corningcachamber.org, or they can come in to the chamber office and pick one up. The winner will re - ceive a substantial scholar- ship and will reign as Miss Corning for one year. Singer/Songwriter Competition This is an opportunity for young singers who com- pose their own music to compete the day of the Car Show. The competition will be held at 4th Street and Yolo, near House of Brews Specialty Coffees. Entry forms can be found online at www.corningcacham - ber.org or at HOBS and the chamber. If you know of anyone who writes and per- forms their own music, let them know about this op- portunity. Easter egg hunts Mt. Olive Lutheran Church cordially invites you to join them Eas- ter Sunday as they cele- brate the Resurrection of our Lord at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 20. Mt. Also, El Camino United Methodist Church, 8345 Hwy 99W in Gerber, at 11 am. Car Show The May Madness Cars Show is coming soon and there are lots of things tak- ing place for you to partici- pate in. Friday evening the cruise will take place from 3rd Street to Houghton Av- enue, and each cruiser will receive a ticket for each loop. One of those tickets will be drawn after the cruise and some lucky participant will win $100 in Corning Cash. The barbecue will take place after the cruise in the Masonic parking lot next to the chamber office, with hamburgers and hot - dogs, chips, soda and ice cream for $5. Those who pre-register will receive two free meal tickets. A live band, 613 Main Street, will perform music that you are sure to enjoy. The volunteer fire - fighters will have a pan- cake breakfast 7 -11 a.m., and the Fireman's Muster is back this year at 1 p.m. on Marin Street between 5th and 6th streets. Saturday registration begins at 7 a.m., and all cars must be parked by 10 a.m., to be judged. Cash prizes will be given this year. The Mayor's and Cham - ber's Choice will receive $100. First place in each cat- egory will receive $50 and second place $25 as well as a plaque. New Life Marketplace will be having a high-end estate sale, antiques as well as other food and craft vendors on the day of the Car Show.
