A 6, 2011 .D M. MOTHER-DAUGHTER SELF DEFENSE DUO TO THE RESCUE! QUARTZSITE, AZ- When it comes to personal safety, there is no substitute for training and knowledge. Self-defense is important for everyone to learn, and can save yourself and your belongings in an incident. Cathy Gregg and her daughter, Nicole Gallow, of Caution Unlimited brought their knowledge to female students at Scholars’ Academy Wednesday, March 30th. Quartzsite resident, Diana Fritz, of Quartzsite Cares, was in- spired to bring the team to Quartzsite and sought to raise the funds from the local community for the three-hour class. Over 50 students were sponsored at a cost of $47 for each student. Gregg’s company, Caution Unlimited LLC, offers self defense workshops tailored specifi cally to the female personality and strength level, teaching the skills to protect themselves when they are most vulnerable. “The most important thing is to be alert and aware,” asserts IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN TO AL’S YOU HAVEN’T BEEN TO QUARTZSITE! And if avoidance is not possible, it’s about knowing how to handle those situations clearly and decisively to avoid becoming a victim.” Cathy Gregg’s work in self-defense instruction cov- ers many years, including 12 years as a self defense instructor at the East West Martial Arts Academy in Cortland, NY. Having earned three black belts, she taught Quartzsite young ladies the importance of develop- ing confi dence and empowerment so that women learn to use their minds, voices and bodies to de- fend themselves against aggression.
