F������� 2, 2011 BIG BAKE SALE AT GENERAL STORE FEB. 5 There will a big bake sale held at the General Store on Saturday, February 5 starting at 9 a.m. There will be lots of goodies of all kinds--candy, breads, muffi ns, cookies etc. All the monies raised will go to help the community. Come and check it out!!! QUARTZSITE’S NOSTALGIA – SOCK HOP! Take a trip back in time to the 50’s & 60’s, with music by Quartzsite’s very popular “Golden Oldies Band”. Play- ing the music we all grew up dancing with. Ted Dirk and Sandy Pinter on lead guitars and vocals, Lee Kracher on bass, Various professional drum- mers will be sitting in. Starting in February through March, every Tuesday evening they will be providing an old fashioned sock hop at the Quartzsite Senior Center starting at 6:30pm until around 9pm. There will be a contest and prizes giv- en to the best “twister” and to the best “jitterbug” couple. There will also be a contest for the person best dressed for the period. Judging will be by par- ticipants. So gals, dig out your poodle ���.D�����M��������.��� skirts and pony tails, and don’t forget to roll down your socks. Guys, roll up your cuffs, slick back your hair and dig out that old black leather jacket. Cheapest entertain- ment in town, only $3.00 each dona- tion at the door. Senior center will be providing the refreshments with a do- nation jar. Golden Oldies Band schedule is: Quartzsite Senior Center February 1st, 8th, Special Valentine’s Day dance on the 14th, 22nd March 1st, 8th, special St Patrick day on the 17th, 22nd, and the 29th Split Rail RV park: February 10th 6:30pm hot dogs and root beer fl oats available CALLING ALL CHILI COOKS!
