J 5, 2011  LETTERS FROM PAGE 6 BOYCOTT?….HMMM After reading the newest free newspaper in town, it is my suggestion that everyone boycott those businesses that advertise in or distribute the Desert Free Press. While freedom of speech and expression is our right in this country, freedom of choice is also ours. Anonymity is also a choice, but if you have the guts to make the statements that you do, you better have the guts to put your name on it. For all I know, the editor herself could have written that letter…what’s her beef with Lukkasson anyway? Doing business with those that promote that negative message in our town is, in my opinion, counter productive to the good things that I see happening here. The clean up effort on Main Street did not go unnoticed and the new businesses in town are encouraging. I have had the opportunity to speak with a number of people who are here for the first time this year and they are planning on making Quartzsite home. My husband and I are ones that are looking to invest in this community .DM. and call it home. Let’s embrace these people who see the good in this town and support the forward movement. I plan to send this letter to both newspaper editors…I wonder who will have the guts to publish it. Amy Crosby Winter Visitor GROOMER REVEALED Today I had the displeasure of reading that new newspaper, the Desert Free Press. I have never seen more negative trash written about local residents, businesses, and visitors in my five years of coming here. I have always heard the rumors of why you shouldn’t take your pet to Jade Jennifer Jones, a so-called groomer. After reading that paper she is the editor of, and reading all that hatred, I now know why people feel the way they do. Keep up the bad work, Jade Jones, I am smiling all the way to the bank!
