Could his legendary story of a gold ledge that he said he found out in the Plomosa Mountains north of Quartzsite, in the main Hi Jolly Cemetery. I miss the many times when I would visit Bill and he would be tapping away stories on his typewriter about his fascinating life. Sometimes I would find him at his easel painting his memories of Arizona and its special beauty. Bill’s homestead was 160 acres until Interstate 10 took a chunk for the west overpass. Some would say he died a poor man in monetary terms, but in living life to its fullest, Bill was wealthy beyond measure. Bill left behind a legacy of art, trea- Bill passed away in 1963 and is buried ���.D�����M��������.��� but could never again find when he went back to mine it, be the same “lost” mine that was “rediscovered” in 1985? To date, this new discovery has taken out over 6,000 ounces of gold? Perhaps the shifting sands of time did indeed uncov- er the lost ledge of gold that Bill Keiser always swore was out there. The Quartzsite Library is rated as a four star library and one of the reasons for this is providing outstanding ser- vice to our patrons. This grant, from Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, helps us to maintain high standards of service to visitors and residents of our community. This web service will provide the pub- lic the ability to see what is available in the library, reserve books, and if you are house bound, be able to have those books delivered to you. This is will speed up the amount of time the pub- lic has to spend at the library. The program has pictures of the books and a short paragraph of what the book is about. If you have a library card you can log on by going into the log on screen and select you do not have your password. In 2010, the Arizona State Library will receive more than $3 million un- der the Library Services and Technol- ogy Act (LSTA), which is administered by the Institute of Museum and Li- brary Services. Almost $1 million of the funding is being awarded on a competitive basis to libraries in Arizona.
