February 6, 2013 www.DesertMessenger.com LETTERS FROM PAGE 5 the Planning and Zoning commision and the council. The Town council then tried to fire the whole commission. Then found out by their attorney that they could not. So on it goes. Business as usual. John Kelly, Quartzsite Urgent Care available For many years we have dry camped in Quartzsite in our motorhome. Fortunately, I'm in fairly good health but yesterday I came down with a horrible case of acute bronchitis. Needless to say, I was coughing all night and got no sleep (even my dog wanted me outside). I can't remember when I've been so sick. I live in Big Bear Lake, CA and departing for home was not an option. I Googled urgent care facilities and the closet one was in Parker, AZ. My wife drove me to La Paz Regional Hospital, ER and Urgent Care center this morning. I had no idea what to expect so far from home and being on Medicare (AARP supplement). Was I surprised and delighted with the service and the people who run it! My caregiver was Crystal Carmack, FNP, and she was fantastic along with the other staff. I didn't need a x-ray and the whole visit took only about 2 hours. If you're visiting Quartzsite or the river, and need urgent care help, this is the place to go. Denis Thomas Quartzsite visitor Canadian potluck thanks We would like to say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to all the wonderful Canadians who came out and joined us to make this such a huge success!!! We had 212 Canadians, wow, great turn out everyone! See you all next year,eh? Richard Child Quartzsite Neighborhood zoning issues We are having a problem with a zoning issue in our RESIDENTIAL neighborhood. We are NOT zoned for business. A zone change was DENIED. This matter has been brought to the attention of the Council and we DO NOT understand why they are not enforcing the law and are still allowing the business to continue to operate in our area.
