If you thought all the fun was over in Quartzsite, think again! Events planned for next weekend include the Desert Bloom Rally, QPAA Gold & Treasure Expo, Quilt Show and Mardi Gras Art Show! DESERT BLOOM RALLY Five 2 Productions is busy with final details of the 2nd annual Desert Bloom Rally by Sanderson Ford. This four day event will take place February 1417, 2013 in Quartzsite, AZ at the Tyson Wells Show Park and RV Grounds. With at least 3 events in 2013 the Desert Bloom Rally is the flagship event for Five 2 Productions. "We have found a home here in Quartzsite," said Five 2 Productions Vice President, Gretchen Cobb. "The people are great and have welcomed us with open arms, the riding is some of the best in the world all the ingredients to make this a world class event," she finished. The event will begin on Thursday the 14th and will continue through Sunday the 17th. The Performance Plaza will offer manufacturers from the ATV and UTV industry and will be open to the public. "If you own a quad or side by side, or have ever wanted to drive one to see if one is in your future, the Performance Plaza is for you," said Marketing Manager, Christine Grau. "Not only will we have the latest and greatest products available for your off road vehicles with companies like KC HiLites, PRP Seats and Airaid, but Tom- MAIN ST. EATERY 3 Car will be here with all of their 2013 models," she continued. "There will be deals you can only get at the Desert Bloom Rally!" The event will also feature a Drive-In Movie Thursday night and a dinner cruise to Silly Al's Pizza Friday night. Saturday will offer the popular poker run, raffle, BBQ, and video highlights all at the Picnic Pavilion. Sunday will showcase the historic General Patton Ride to round out the wonderful event. GOLD & TREASURE EXPO The Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA) recently will hold their special 3-day event Gold & Treasure Expo at the Quartzsite Improvement Association (QIA) February 1517th, 2013. The Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA) was founded in 1968 "to preserve and promote the great heritage of the North American Prospector. GPAA is dedicated to finding and mining gold on a small or recreational scale. One noticeable change in 2013 will be the shift from Gold & Treasure Shows to Gold & Treasure Expos. The Expo will cover more than just gold, including gem and treasure hunting. "Expo tells you straight up that we've got vendors ready to sell you products," said Trade Show Manager Gary Sturgill. "That's where you're going to $ 50 Early Bird Breakfast Mon - Fri 6am - 9am th find the latest and greatest new equipment and the vendors are going to demonstrate how to use it." Sturgill said education will take on a pivotal role in 2013 with much more focus on teaching people how to prospect and pan for gold. Speakers include Gold Cube inventor Mike Pung talking about fine gold recovery, GPAA Executive Director of Operations Dominic Ricci talking about the Alaska Gold Expedition, GPAA Executive Director of Development Kevin Hoagland talking about metal detecting and Walt Wegner of Public Lands for the People. The Gold & Treasure Expos will also bring in local speakers to highlight gold prospecting topics that vary from region to region. The Gold & Treasure Expos are open to the public. Admission is $5 or FREE if you pre-register online at least two weeks before show dates. The first 100 paid attendees will receive a FREE vial with some placer gold.
