February 6, 2013 www.DesertMessenger.com Page 31 Ron and Opal perform at Isaiah 58 Quartzsite- Ron & Opal Erickson from Branson, MO will be in concert at the Isaiah 58 Project / Gospel Opry located at 100 S. Moon Mountain Ave., on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 7:00 pm. This will be their last concert in Quartzsite for this season. Their music started right here in Quartzsite thirteen years ago. They travel the western half of the United States and minister in music as Musicianaries primarily to the senior population. Having grown up in south Georgia, Opal has a great country voice and loves singing for the Lord. She is know as "Little Vestal" as in Vestal Goodman from the Gaither videos, amongst her peers. Ron, on the other hand, grew up in North Dakota and plays numerous instruments with the steel guitar being featured. He adds his great voice to hers for a beautiful duet blend. They have been performing together for over 40 years and they just keep getting bette!. They were the three time recipients of the Country Gospel Music Association's Duo of the Year in 2007, 2008, 2011 and in 2012 they were honored to receive the Platinum Heart Duo Award from the same organization.
